Half the “exotic” out there is mid in a nicer bag.
I would love to tell you this category is above that. I would also love to be six-foot-four. Here is the eleven-second check that separates a real short run from good packaging — and underneath it, the products in our catalog that survive it.
Live prices, live stock, straight from the product record. Eligibility is confirmed at checkout by destination, product type and age verification.
Why this keeps happening
The word is free. The batch isn't.
Printing “exotic” on a bag costs about four cents. Growing something in a run small enough to deserve the word costs considerably more than four cents. You can see the business problem here, and you can definitely see who ends up paying for it.
So the market did the obvious thing. The label got louder, the product stayed the same, and shoppers started using price as a stand-in for quality — which is a bit like judging a film by how much the poster cost.
A bag makes a claim. A record keeps one.
None of this requires you to become an expert. It requires four questions, and the good news is that a product page either answers them or very loudly does not.
The eleven-second check
Is there a batch number?
Mid in a nice bag
Nothing. Just a barcode and a lot of confidence.
Backed by the record
A lot or batch number, because somebody actually tracked the run.
Can you open the lab record?
Mid in a nice bag
"Lab tested" printed on the box. Tested by whom? Unclear. Mysterious. Sexy.
Backed by the record
A COA or product record linked on the page, when the brand provides one.
Who wrote the word "exotic"?
Mid in a nice bag
A packaging designer with a deadline.
Backed by the record
The brand record. If the data does not say it, we do not print it.
Does it actually run out?
Mid in a nice bag
"Limited" since roughly the Obama administration.
Backed by the record
It clears, and it does not reappear forever at the same price.
Four things we would rather you knew
- Some weeks this shelf is deep. Some weeks it is four things and a lot of black space.
- A few genuinely great products never show up here because their record is thin.
- Expensive is not a signal. We weigh price last, on purpose.
- If we cannot back a claim, we leave it out — even when it would sell better.

How to read a batch record
Read the guidePassed the check
These earned the word.
Every product here carries a rarity signal in its own record — not one we added. In stock right now, at the price checkout charges.
Plugg Shield covers it
Porch theft, lost parcels, damage on arrival. Switch it on in your bag and we reship free, covered to 200% of what you paid.
Never run dry
Found the one? Put it on a restock plan from the product page — weekly saves 15%, monthly 12%, quarterly 10%, yearly 8%.
Plain packaging, always
Nothing on the outside says what is inside. Reships go out exactly the same way.
Fast U.S. shipping
Standard, express and overnight at checkout, with destination eligibility confirmed before you pay.
How can I tell exotic from mid before I buy?
Check four things on the product page: a batch or lot number, a lab record you can actually open, wording that came from the brand rather than the store, and a price that matches the format. Miss all four and you are buying a bag, not a batch.
Does a higher price mean better product?
No. Price tells you what something cost to source, not how good it is. A short run of a low-yield format is genuinely expensive to make. A regular product in a shiny bag with a high price is just a high price.
Why do so many products say exotic?
Because the word is free. There is no rule stopping anyone printing it on packaging. That is exactly why we score rarity from the product record instead of the label, and why some expensive products never make our rare shelf.
What if a product has no lab record?
It is not automatically bad, but you should price it like an unknown. We link the COA or product record on the product page whenever the brand provides one, and we never invent one when they do not.
Are the prices on this page the checkout price?
Yes. Everything shown is pulled live from the product record — same price, same stock. We do not inflate a number so a discount looks bigger.
Stop paying for packaging.
You now know more than the bag was hoping. Use it here, use it somewhere else, we genuinely do not mind — but if you use it here, the shelf is already sorted.
